EXPERT DRONE SURVEYS
SITE SURVEYS & MAPPING
Surveying a site can take days and still lack a visual overview of the whole site. Using drones to capture an aerial view of a site can be done quickly and results, such as a 2D maps view, can be delivered digitally in less than 24hrs. This can be repeated to show continuous improvement to the site.
Past projects include developer companies who wanted a complete site overview, elevation mapping and footage of the boundary before any development took place. This was then revisited by Bristol Drones once development was underway and when completed, showcasing what their teams had achieved.
From wind turbines, communication towers, industrial units and apartment complexes to commercial buildings, our drone asset inspections are advanced, safe and save on manual inspection fees. Our data analysis platform makes viewing drone inspection data simple, fast and accurate. Drone inspections can produce highly accurate records
Drone roof surveys and aerial building inspections, both internal and external using HD 4 mega pixel video and photography.
It is a simple and cost-effective way of generating surveys that would otherwise be difficult to achieve. Building and roof surveys or inspections no longer need expensive cherry-pickers or scaffolding. We can give you a series of high-resolution images and/or high definition video of most hard to reach structures.

Drone inspections can provide access to areas that are deemed too difficult or too risky to send people into while also significantly reducing the risks associated with working at heights. An added benefit of drone inspections is that all results can be saved for future reference while also allowing for comparisons over time. Drone inspections eliminate the need for expensive and time consuming scaffolding/cherry-pickers, man-lifting equipment and helicopter charters.
There are many regular or one-off drone inspection tasks which can be undertaken such as:
- general maintenance checks
- identifying weak structures
- finding corrosion
- structural damage
- damage to a roof and its supporting structure
The benefits of using drone technology can be found on our homepage.

Capturing construction sites as they progress is an ideal way to impress investors and give site managers an overview what is currently happening on their site.
New builds, renovations and demolition projects are ideal for aerial footage. They capture unique points of view that was simply not possible by other means.
Answers to Your Questions
What is a drone?
The term drone is widely used to describe unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Basically a “drone” is a flying robot that can fly autonomously with software controlled flight plans or from a remote control device. Other names for drones often include: Multirotor, Quadcopter, Hexacopter, Octocopters and Whizboppers.
How Much Does a Drone Roof Survey Cost?
We price our drone roof surveys based on the size of the building as this reflects the time it will take to complete the job. Our drone pilots are very experience and we use the latest drone survey technology so large roof areas can be covered in a short space of time. This means that the price for a roof survey using a drone is much lower than other conventional methods.
Can you fly in all weather conditions?
Unfortunately we cannot fly if the wind is more than 17mph or in heavy rain. We carry anemometers with us and check the weather forecast before deploying. Light rain is ok, but we would wait for heavy rain to pass before flying. If the rain is too heavy, it also affects the quality of the imagery.
Drone roof Inspection what happens?
Roof inspections are often a 2-part process. The first will involve a physical inspection of guttering and any internal roofing. This will be done by one of our accredited experts who will record any issues they find. But the second part is far more exciting, and that’s a drone inspection. The problem with roofs is that there are areas that are difficult or even impossible to access. If a roof is unstable and can’t be walked on safely, you need a way to view it without risking anyone’s safety. Our state of the art drones allow us to view every part of your roof in detail with our feet firmly on the ground. Our drones are operated by fully CAA qualified drone pilots and film in full high definition 4K to capture even the tiniest defect in your roof. It also eliminates the need for scaffolding or tradesmen walking over your roof.
Are you insured?
Yes. We have a specialist insurance policy specifically for flying remotely piloted aircraft. It covers all our equipment and includes £5 million public liability.
Scaffolding and high access platforms are expensive to rent, time consuming to put up, and not all roof areas can be accessed when conducting a preliminary investigation.
Using a drone to survey a roof is economical, can be done in a matter of minutes, and hard to reach areas can be captured in 4K video or 20MP photos. The footage can be immediately supplied to your professional of choice to make an assessment.
Leaks, roof tiles falling off, insurance and surveyor requirements of old or new buildings are all projects Expert Drone Services has successfully assisted with in the past. We are looking forward to assisting you in the future.
